Join Underland and Resident Larissa Archer for our first-ever salon, promising an evening of dance, music, and visual splendor.
In addition to San Francisco Bellydance Theater, this salon will also feature performances by Tribal Baroque and Kyra Moved to Be, plus live fashion sketching by Janice Chuang. Tribal Baroque (Lila'Angelique and SK Thoth) create original two person operas by combining their haunting voices, violin, foot percussion, theater and dance.
San Francisco Bellydance Theater was founded in 2017 by local arts writer, dancer, actress, and impresaria Larissa Archer, daughter of bellydance legend Masha Archer, director of the famed San Francisco Classic Dance Troupe. SFBT performs early American Tribal Style© bellydance inflected by principles of Stanislavskian theater, and is known for creating moments of vivid dramatic beauty, mystery, and exuberance. Archer curates salons showcasing artists of myriad genre both individually and in unusual collaborations she directs, resulting in hallucinatory visual and aural compositions, all within the festive context of a catered party in a gorgeous secret location. This is her, and SFBT's, maiden voyage into Underland.
Underland is a new immersive club and incubator by Epic Immersive: a new home for experimental, experiential creations in the San Francisco Bay with a focus on elevating artists from underrepresented backgrounds and changing the face of the industry.
Underland immersive space grants to women, queer artists, and artists color -- giving artists without adequate representation the space to explore, develop new work, and tell stories that are too often unheard.
Club members pay $25/month and get exclusive access to new experiences and experiments at below market rates ($15-$55).
San Francisco Bellydance Theater & Friends in Underland: An Immersive Experience is available exclusively to Underland members. To join, enter your name here and our Membership Concierge will be in touch to get you started!
